Canon Central and North Africa (CCNA) has brought two cinema cameras, the EOS C200 and EOS C700, to Morocco in partnership with LTS Network in Ouarzazate Morocco.

As part of the launch, Canon hosted a filmmaking workshop and invited its partners and customers to Ouarzazate, considered as the 'Moroccan Hollywood' and equipped them with the Canon cameras, enabling them to test the technology.

“Through the launch of EOS C700 and C200, Canon is enabling filmmakers in the North Africa market to bring their stories to life in the most versatile manner possible,” said Somesh Adukia, sales and marketing director, B2C Canon Central and North Africa. “We want to expose them to the availability of a world-class portfolio of imaging solutions, ranging from cinema cameras to lenses including 4K technology, workflow solutions and even post production. The launch elevates the capabilities of filmmakers from Morocco, and help them leverage technologies that defines industry standards.”

Hassan Eddahbi, managing director, LTS Network, added: “Besides bringing in advanced technology which caters to the cinema industry, our aim is to showcase how production houses can integrate our solutions in their setup without any hassle, to drive creativity. With locations such as Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film industry is perfectly poised for growth and Canon aims to be a partner in this growth. We will work very closely with the filmmaking and broadcast industry along with production houses to demonstrate how Canon technology can be an integral part of creative workflow and help achieve outstanding content.”

With a modular design aimed at high-end cinema production, the C700 features a Super35mm sensor that shoots up-to 4.5K. It has numerous recording options and will benefit from an upcoming RAW update.

The EOS C200 is the first Cinema EOS camera to support the new RAW recording format. The lightweight camera has built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity.
