by Digital Studio Middle East Staff on Aug 11, 2015

Dubai developer Meraas has unveiled plans to launch ‘The Dome Box’, a theatre featuring a 360-degree screen offering a unique audio-visual experience.

The cinematic experience will open in September 2015 in the Boxpark development, it was announced on Sunday.

Accommodating up to 80 visitors at a time, the developer did not give away too many specific details of what the venue will entail, announcing it 'will offer a venue that is ideal for exploration and discovery as well as fun and entertainment.'

Edris Alrafi, senior vice president of leisure & entertainment at Meraas, said: "We are excited to introduce The Dome Box, a first-of-its-kind venue in the region dedicated to bringing stories to life in this manner. Visitors will enjoy the sensory experience and get dazzled by the characters that all but leap off the screen. The Dome Box is set to create long-lasting memories for visitors of all age groups."

He added: "The launch of The Dome Box marks the beginning of an eventful phase for our division. We are working on a portfolio of several other exciting landmark projects, which we will announce in due time."
