JVC Professional has confirmed Chris Darnley will head up the company's new JVC Gulf division, which will oversee the company's interests in the Middle East.

“This arrangement allows us to bring additional products into the Gulf market and unifies the whole of the EMEA region under one office,” commented Darnley.

“Previously, Saudi Arabia and the UAE came under JVC Japan. The JVC Japan office in the free zone was more focused on consumer goods while the broadcast business was only a small portion of their operations. Now that we have taken over, the whole of the GCC and MEA comes under the Gulf and London offices. This will enable us to provide greater technical support to our clients. It will increase our market share while providing our distributor Oasis Enterprises with adequate support in terms of products as well as technical support,” he added.

The vice president of JVC’s European operations, Ian Scott, added that by extending its European operations to the region, the manufacturer would be able to distribute its knowledge and technical personnel more effectively across the Middle East.

“By bringing JVC Professional Europe to the Middle East, we would be able to utilise the specialists we have in our European operations more effectively,” he commented.

JVC is showcasing two of its newest cameras – the GY-HM100E and the GY-HM700 cameras at CABSAT.
