How has business been since the start of the year for AMT?

To answer this question I need to go back and mention that it’s been 14 years since the start of Advanced Media, (established in Dubai, UAE in 2002). The company has grown from a two man shop to one of the largest suppliers of broadcasting, video and photography equipment in the Middle East and every year it is expanding. Year by year, we are growing steadily by number of brands and products, professional staff and customers from different regions. We always meet our expectations and this year is not an exception.

DS: What have been some of the main developments for Advanced Media in the past year?

We always work on the development of effective logistics, sharing of knowledge and providing dynamic services. We closely communicate with our customers to better meet their needs and interests.In the past few years, due to the high market demand, we have added new brands and launched hundreds of new products. Since March 2015, we have expanded our showroom to better present our products and equipment to the visitors and customers (to select, test and try). Moreover, an expanded service centre for better and faster support to achieve the best customer satisfaction, and wider distribution network, to strongly cover the UAE and MENA region.

DS: Where do you see the market heading?

We can notice how the market is improving the video production platform from SD to HD, from HD to 2K and 4K, and how new production gadgets like drones and etc. have changed the taste of video and photography production. Also, we are in the era of Vloggers, which creates a huge brand/products potential – they have been highly influential for past years, being active users of YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram. A wide segment of mobile videographers raise a demand for mobile videography equipment and accessories by big suppliers like Zeiss, Manfrotto and others.

This year we are launching a campaign for mobile video/photography users, we have all the necessary accessories starting from lenses, tripods, cases, lights, underwater housing and so on, all accessible in our showroom and distribution channels.

DS: Which product segments are performing best in 2016?

Whilst analysing our daily sales, I can say that there is a high demand for 4K cameras and recorders, Drones, broadcast and photography lenses, 3-axis stabilisers and mobile photography equipment.

DS: What’s on the agenda for the rest of 2016?

We’ve started 2016 aggressively, we will continue by introducing and sharing the knowledge of more and more interesting brands/products as well as offers and promotions to the market. There will be more workshops and training for educational purposes. We will try hard as always to deliver the best service to our customers and to maintain a long term relationship with our suppliers, partners and customers.

DS: What do you like most about working in the broadcast industry?

Working in the broadcast industry and being a part of Advanced Media is a big excitement for me. I have more than 13 years of marketing experience being in 10 different industries. All of those industries are interesting, but broadcasting is unique and special. In Advanced Media’s work environment, you will never feel a typical work routine, every day starts starting with active meetings, trainings, discussions, new product launches, and meeting new visitors.

It’s a place where you can meet different people, professionals, creative and interesting filmmakers, famous people, artists etc. When I talk about Advanced Media, I talk about a big family with friendly team mates helping and supporting each other, and a place where people work for many years almost from the day of establishment.
