Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) last week hosted its ‘Industry Insider Session’ for business partners, filmmakers and producers. The networking event was held to provide an opportunity for the production community to discuss industry related issues, voice concerns, and open more business opportunities within the film industry in Dubai.
Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission and Managing Director of Dubai Studio City, said: “The industry insider sessions for us is not just a networking event with our business partners, it’s a platform for the film community in Dubai to come together and discuss business opportunities, and share new ideas and concerns within the media production industry. This helps us improve our services to filmmakers and producers, and keeps the entire industry up to speed with recent global updates and projects.”
Adnan Peter alMalki, Executive Producer of Flicker Show Productions, Dubai, added: "I believe the DFTC Industry Insider Session is a fantastic platform for the production industry to meet up and share their experiences along with challenges that they face, it allows us to learn of new processes and procedures set by DFTC that need to be taken in order to ensure a successful production can be achieved. I would look forward to more of such sessions with case studies of past challenging productions and how DFTC offered its support."
Karen Coetzee, Producer at Central Films, Dubai, said: “The Insider Session is a great opportunity for the Film and Television industry to get together and share experiences. It creates a unique forum for discussion between the DFTC, Location Owners, Producers and Location Managers. We hope that these sessions will be more frequent as they are valued by the filming community.”
