Rohde & Schwarz will present its entire broadcast product portfolio at CABSAT 2017 next month under the motto ‘Every frame counts’.

Among the technology on show will be Rohde & Schwarz’s Venice ingest and playout platform complete with the recently launched Venice Control application. R&S Venice Control provides a clear overview of the recorded channels, which users can arrange as desired. Up to 16 channels can be controlled simultaneously, regardless of the resolution of the individual channels, allowing recording of SD, HD and UHD at the same time. This is the highest number of channels per system available on the market. Channels can be bundled into up to four groups, while still being individually controllable from a client. The workflow becomes more efficient since one operator can control and monitor multiple recordings in parallel. Single-channel and multichannel recordings are processed in a flexible client-server configuration.

Also on show will be the R&S Clipster, which has established itself as an all-in-one solution for mastering and deliverables of premium content. New functions allow content creators to master their films and TV content more quickly and reliably. The software release, which supports Dolby Vision and HDR10, provides an expanded tool set for high dynamic range workflows, enabling more flexible colour processing.

The company will also highlights its R&S AVHE100 encoding and multiplexing solution, which makes it possible to broadcast colour-intensive HDR material in UHD as well as in HD format, for example over DVB-T2 networks, to provide viewers with a truly immersive TV experience.

The R&S AVHE100 architecture allows headend operators to replace existing encoders or to build entirely new multiplex systems employing cutting-edge technology. With the R&S AVHE100, the company offers headend operators an extremely compact yet flexible solution for migrating to high-definition and ultra-high-definition TV formats, including statistical multiplexing and HDR. All functions are implemented by software modules, allowing easy integration of enhancements to the relatively new HEVC standard.

Rohde & Schwarz will present its entire broadcast portfolio at CABSAT in Dubai in hall 2, booth E2-10.
