Globecast appoints Sylvain Merle as CTO

To manage skill centres, develop strategic partnerships and contribute technological advances

Globecast, a global solutions provider for media, has appointed Sylvain Merle to the post of CTO.

His duties include managing skill centres, developing strategic partnerships and contributing to technological advances such as IT architecture and storage, headends, WAN, LAN and CDN Networks.

Philippe Bernard, CEO at Globecast, said: “Globecast is excited to welcome Sylvain as the newest member of our forward-thinking team. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge and leadership skills to his new post including 25 years of experience in broadcast architecture, OTT, nonlinear distribution, transmission, IPTV and IT. With such an impressive background, I know he’ll be an incredible asset to our business so we can continue to deliver the high value that our clients have come to expect.”

Merle joins Globecast from beIN Media Group, where he worked as the company’s technical director for several years. Prior to that, he held several high-level technical positions at major organisations including FOX International Channels, TV5Monde, and Thomson Broadcast Systems. He holds a diploma in electronics engineering and is based in the company’s Paris office.
