French major event lighting specialist Matthieu Larivée will deliver the keynote address at next month’s Lighting Solutions conference to be staged in Dubai in conjunction with the PALME Middle East exhibition.

Larivée’s keynote will focus on the growing sophistication of large-scale lighting and audio-visual installations at live events and the role technology plays in these installations.

He will frame his presentation in light of his work on Chantal Chamandy’s A Night at the Pyramids concert in Egypt, for which he won the 2007 Middle East Lighting Design Award.

Larivée’s resume also included stints developing lighting designs for rock legends REM and theatre troupe Cirque de Soleil.

“Larivée has earned a solid reputation for his multi-dimensional artistic approach and global vision of a show,” said Alex Heuff, Exhibition Director, PALME.

“I think it is fair to say that Larivee’s credentials are beyond reproach.”

Sustainability, aesthetics and safety are the other key topics that feature prominently on the lighting solutions conference agenda.
