UK-based event management company, Clarion Events, has established a new regional base in Abu Dhabi in conjunction with MECOM Forums.

The move marks the company’s push into the regional event market, which will initially focus on B2B events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Clarion Events has already established ties with the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), after managing a number of events for the company in London, and now plans to host similar events for ADNEC in Abu Dhabi.

“We will launch tradeshows across a variety of sectors,” confirmed Simon Kimble, CEO of Clarion Events.

“Combining Clarion Events and MECOM Forums creates an immediate base of operations from which to do this while providing the infrastructure we need to support growth plans for our conference business,” he said.

Clarion Events operates 10 offices in seven countries worldwide.

Tim Pilcher, COO of Clarion Events, predicted the UAE-based operation would make a significant contribution to the company's overall business.

MECOM Forums’ event portfolio includes Fashion Expo Arabia, Optical Middle East and the Gulf Bike Expo, which was recently staged at Dubai Festival City.
