Dubai Studio City is presently in talks with hospitality groups in the emirate to offer accommodation to production crews at discounted rates, digitalproductionme.com can reveal.
In an exclusive interview, Dubai Studio City’s executive director, Jamal Al Sharif, confirmed facility management was close to signing an agreement with an accommodation provider located in Dubai Marina.
“Our priority is to try and make Dubai as attractive a destination as possible to production crews. We have plans to tie up with a few hotel apartments across the emirate to provide low-cost housing for crews. We will make a formal announcement about this as soon as the deals have been signed,” Al Sharif confirmed.
Dubai Studio City, which is intended to be an all-encompassing facility for production and post production organisations, will eventually comprise several hotels and residential complexes when completed in 2010.
