Satellite company Intersat Africa has complimented the performance of Newtec’s FlexACM products, which it claims has helped optimise its satellite space segment resources.
The technology was implemented with second generation digital video broadcasting satellite (DVB-S2) transponders provided by Asia Broadcast Satellite.
Intersat claims the use of Newtec’s FlexACM technology has contributed towards achieving a throughput rate that is 50% higher than that of regular DVB-S technology.
“Intersat first tested Newtec’s Azimuth range of satellite modulators and demodulators on the SES-Newskies NSS-703 satellite and we have not looked back since,” said Abdul Bakhrani, CEO of Intersat Africa.
“Our engineers are extremely happy with the support from Newtec during the initial deployment and are looking forward to deploying Newtec’s latest Elevation FlexACM products on the transponders we have booked for our NSS-12 satellite,” he claimed.
Based in Belgium, Newtec specialises in satellite communication products for digital broadcast exchange networks and IP broadband access networks.
