Mahmoud Bouneb, executive general manager of Al Jazeera Children’s Channel (JCC), will deliver the closing keynote at MIPJUNIOR on October 4.
The 17th edition of MIPJUNIOR, which is the world’s biggest annual showcase of childrens' television programming, will be held from October 3-4 at Cannes.
Bouneb, who helped launch Baraem, JCC’s pre-school Arabic television channel, will share his experience and the strategies put into place for the launch of both channels.
He will also speak about new opportunities opening up with JCC and Baraem and will explore how the kids’ entertainment community must be more aware of their responsibilities in terms of education and social issues.
Bouneb described MIPJUNIOR as “a relevant platform … to share our experience with global industry players”.
“Both JCC and Baraem have made a tremendous difference to the Arab TV industry for children and I am pleased to exchange some of the valuable lessons we have learned with such a prestigious audience,” commented Bouneb.
MIPJUNIOR’s two-day conference programme will focus on the changing business models in kids’ TV production and distribution and will highlight new growing opportunities opening up with digital platforms.
