The French racecourse group, France Galop, has selected an Allen and Heath iLive digital system to manage audio distribution at the Deauville Touques venue in Normandy.

Installed by EV Corporate, the iLive system comprises an iDR10 MixRack and an iLive-112 control surface, which manages the live PA during races, broadcast feeds, and horse auctions. The system is also used to provide sound to on-site OB vans, during broadcasts which can sometimes last for nine hours.
The iLive system was installed in the racecourse’s control room, while a laptop loaded with iLive Editor control software and a PL remote controller, enable direct access to audio settings at the presenters’ booth.

The venue is fitted with optical fibre cable between various remote points and the technical control room. The racecourse group now plans to establish digital audio distribution through Audiopole FANMUx CAT5 to an optical splitter/merger, providing digital signal to the Nexo speaker system using the EtherSound protocol.
