South Korean club boosted by JBL

Kwangju CD installs latest JBL VerTec line-arrays.

One of South Korea’s largest venues, the Kwangju CD nightclub, has been kitted-out with the latest line arrays from JBL’s VerTec DP series.

The technology was installed by local systems integrator Sovico AV, with assistance from Sovico R&D, the firm’s acoustic research laboratory, which specialises in acoustic measurement, sound design and system tuning.

With more than 36,000 square feet of floor space, a unique architectural design and a spectacular stage setting with extensive lighting products already in place, the venue’s sound designer, Jon Won Lee, faced a tough challenge.

Twelve VerTec VT4889ADP powered full-size line array elements and eight VT4880ADP powered full-size arrayable subwoofers with ultra-long excursion 2269H 18-inch transducers form the core of the pro-audio installation.
