UAE-based event company RNH Events will delay investments in all technology until 2010, Bharat Harpalani, the company’s business development manager has revealed.

He said that although the company was previously “on the hunt” for some new laser effects technology earlier this year, the cost outweighed the need for such a purchase.

“Officially, our budgets have been frozen, so we don’t plan to make any investments in technology until the beginning of next year,” said Harpalani. “But if we saw a really amazing piece of technology that we really needed, then we would still consider it.”

“To be honest, we have the latest equipment already.

“But that said, we do want to ensure we have the best and the latest equipment, but looking at the prices and market conditions, we’re better-off putting our investments on hold right now.”

Although he admits that the effects of the global downturn have had an impact on the company’s technology budget in 2009, Harpalani said the company did recognise the importance of keeping technology up-to-date.

“As soon as we lift the budget-freeze, we will be looking to invest in the latest technology - laser and visual effects in particular,” he predicted.

“This sort of investment is necessary in the local event industry to gain an edge on our competitors across the Middle East."

Popular DJ promoter and pan-regional event organiser Level Production falls underneath the RNH Events company banner.
