Dubai-based pro audio distributor Nicolas Kyvernitis Electronics (NMK Electronics) has supplied the Dubai World Trade Centre’s (DWTC) rental division with a Klark Teknik DN9696 high-resolution audio recorder – the first sold in the Middle East.

The recorder is designed to complement the DWTC’s existing Midas XL8 live digital production console.

The DN9696 offers 96 tracks of 96kHz audio at 24-bit quality, and nine hours of internal storageThe screen based software interface offers in-depth control of both recording and playback functions.

The recorder uses POPulation groups to view, colour and edit tracks and includes an ‘Input Sheet’ for quickly naming all tracks in addition to ‘dual operator’ control. The DN9696 occupies only 5U of rack space.

“This is the first DN9696 system being used in the Middle East,” said Chicco Hiranandani, business development manager at NMK Electronics.

“Together with the XL8, DWTC now have a complete solution that allows them to record their events, providing additional services to the end user. Plus a prerecorded live event can be used to carry out virtual sound checks when the time for rehearsals is limited.”
