The latest IABM industry trends survey has revealed cautious optimism returning among broadcast technology manufacturers.
The trade organisation’s most recent quarterly report found that 50 percent of respondents felt the final quarter of 2009 would be better than the previous quarter with only seven percent saying it would be worse.
More significant perhaps is the outlook for next year with 65 percent of those surveyed anticipating an improvement in 2010 compared to this year. Just six percent said they expected worse results.
The report also claimed that order volumes improved slightly among participants. Order values are increasing at a slower rate than previously, signifying the growing pressure on prices.
The survey also found that job cuts in the industry have stopped with an increasing number of manufacturers now citing staff shortages as a problem.
