UAE telco du will launch a new video-on-demand (VOD) offering for subscribers to its IPTV service on December 20.

The service, which will be available to all subscribers equipped with the telco’s recently introduced du TV set top box, will feature a range of first-run Hollywood, Bollywood and Arabic films, which can be viewed for up to 48 hours at a time. Du TV is based on the Microsoft Mediaroom platform.

While standard definition films will be available for viewing at a rate ranging from AED7-12 ($2-3.00), high definition movies will be charged at a premium rate of AED19 ($5.00).
