Sony Professional Solutions Middle East has confirmed its business has grown 20% for the fiscal year 2009, despite the worst recession in recent memory.

The announcement was made on the first day of the company's Power of Images event, which is currently being staged in Dubai. The event attracted more than 60 client representatives from across the Middle East on its opening day.

“Our business in this region has grown significantly over the last five years and we’re expecting a similar growth in the next year as well,” confirmed Takashi Miura, general manager of Sony Professional Solutions Middle East.

“As you know, Sony is one of the few manufacturers that also operates as a systems integrator. We have bagged some of the biggest systems integration projects in the region and this has led to remarkable growth for the company,” he added.

Owing to its growth in the region, Sony Middle East is relocating to Dubai's International Media production Zone (IMPZ) by the end of this month. The manufacturer will have a 1200 sq.m facility at the free zone, where it will house four HD studios and also be able to prebuild solutions for end users.

Besides several new camcorders, Sony is also highlighting some solutions that support 3G and 3D at the event.
