Keeny Meeny, a popular Yemeni TV series, will be broadcast this Ramadan.
Filming for the third season began in summer. The series discusses social problems in a light-hearted manner. “We hope this series is as warmly received as the last two years,” commented Dr. Fadhl al-Olofi, the director of the series.
The show brings together local and foreign actors as well as little children. “We are trying to verify faces, ideas, and languages,” said al-Olofi. This year’s series has 30 episodes like the last year.
Keeny Meeny began with just 17 episodes. “We started this as a test,” said al-Olofi. However, when I showed this to al-Khoyol, our production company, they encouraged us to continue with this series and helped produce them.”
Political issues will not be discussed in the Keeny Meeny series. “We want to attract the audiences’ attention to such problems, but they are big and serious topics which need time to be studied and acted in a sensible way,” commented al-Olofi.
