Video archiving and streaming specialists, Volicon will show four new productivity modules for its Observer 4.0 video monitoring system at this year's IBC.

The new search facility will include searches by word, phrase or closed caption. A fuzzy search facility will also be included that returns results which are predicted to be relevant, even if the original query has not been returned. A search watchdog with keyword alarms has also been added.

The new Quality Control Monitoring Module features realtime audio alarms such as threshold detection and keeps a master log of audio and video issues, accessible to anyone with system access.

Broadcasters can also protect their advertising revenues with Volicon's Ad Verification and Video Affidavit Module. These allow customers to review ads and aired content via the internet as well as exporting clip lists. Proving that a spot has been aired should increase revenue and reduce collection times.

The last of the new additions is a centralised viewing and monitoring module that allows users to verify broadcast quality and review content.

The newest update of the Observer RPM (remote programme monitoring) family will also be on show. The Observer 800 has increased processing power and can now scan 72 channels per minute.

The Observer HD is the first signal logging and monitoring system for high definition with support for Dolby 5.1. Similar to other Observer platforms the HD version is capable of supporting large numbers of users with 24/7 access to live and archived HD content from a Microsoft explorer compatible interface.
