Content delivery firm Arqiva has launched the Ahl-e-bait channel on the Hotbird satellite neighbourhood broadcasting into Europe.

Ahl-e-bait – which is produced in California – broadcast end-to-end by Arqiva. It is the fifth Farsi language channel to select Arqiva for delivery in Europe from the US and the Middle East in the past year.

“By providing standards conversion to PAL, delivering the feed to the UK through our dedicated transatlantic fibre, then multiplexing and uplinking to the Eurobird platform, we have been able to meet the channels needs as it plans it programming expansion,” said Jon Kirchner, executive VP, Arqiva Satellite and Media.

Arqiva manages 400 standard and high definition TV channels on more than 30 TV platforms worldwide.
