Gaming developer 2K Sports has announced that its popular NBA basketball title, NBA 2K11, will be available in 3D later this month.

A retail version of the game, endorsed by basketball legend Michael Jordan, will be available on Sony's Playstation 3 later this month. A downloadable upgrade will be available via Playstation Network in January.

"The authentic broadcast presentation of NBA 2K11 is something we're really proud of," Greg Thomas, president of product development for 2K Sports, said. "The new 3D capabilities literally add a new dimension to the experience and provide a level of immersion that has never been experienced in a basketball video game."
