Computing behemoth Apple is to fall short of its 2010 fourth-quarter iPad shipping targets, according to a leading US equities analyst.

Doug Reid, of Stifel Nicolaus, tempered the shortfall by suggesting Steve Jobs' mobile giant may ship as many as 6.6 million iPads in the first quarter of 2011.

Shares of Apple Inc (AAPL) traded down 0.67% during midday trading on Friday (Nov 19).
