Dubai's City 7 will continue to expand its locally produced content this month, following on from the launch of seven new shows in November.
A further five programmes will begin this month. All of this new content is being produced internally, at the station's Dubai Media City headquarters.
"The available studio space and time has been completely utilised by these new productions," said Abbas Ali, associate head of in-house programming. "Three new sets have been built at the facility to accommodate the new productions. The current studio space and equipment are now working at full capacity."
The first batch of programmes launched in November added three and a half hours to the channels original programming per day. The releases over the course of December will further increase this.
The programmes cover a range of subjects including music, fashion, cars and business news.
"We hired just a few additional staff. The employees that we have at present are very talented and have been multi-tasking to create some of the best television programming produced in the UAE," said Ali.
Ron Kapadia, COO and executive director of City 7 TV said, "Our channel is providing an insight into the development and happenings across the UAE. We are continuously striving to develop local interactive programming which entertains and informs all our English speaking viewers."
