Solar Power Inc has announced that it has completed the installation of a 160-kilowatt photovoltaic array at the Fox Studios Lot in Century City. Now, instead of solely relying on the electric grid to fuel its operations, Fox will derive a portion of its energy from the solar panel system.

According to executives from Solar Power Inc, the solar panel system comes with a solar tracking technology that will ensure the system functions as efficiently as possible. Mounted on the roof of Fox's historic Building 99, the solar panel system is a component of the movie studio's Global Energy Initiative - a program Fox hopes will spur additional installations of photovoltaic systems.

Hal Haenal, the senior vice president of Fox Studios Operations, said that "as a carbon neutral company, this project is a key component of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and solar energy. Solar Power Inc made the process very easy for us and we look forward to using the clean, renewable eneergy the system generates."
