At the biggest-ever annual Digital Studio awards that will be held on 5th March 2008 in Dubai, 14 people whom you have chosen will each walk away with an award that recognises their contribution to the Middle East broadcast and production industry.
When we launched The Digital Studio Industry Leadership awards four years ago, our objective was to acknowledge the frontrunners in the Middle East industry - people who believed in this region and set up base here to cater to the needs of the region's end users. Today, however, we are keen to go beyond that first objective and celebrate creativity and innovation in this market.
As the broadcast and production industry in this region continues to witness an upward surge, it is important for us to identify key players who may not necessarily have bagged the biggest and the most prestigious projects in the region but who may have been responsible for a quality implementation or added a creative twist that made their work or product stand apart from the rest. Rest assured we would not necessarily be looking for name recognition or annual turnover to make this decision.
We believe our readers who are spread out across the Middle East will be better placed to tell us of deserving candidates than us. These awards are not so much about furthering our individual cause as promoting a whole regional industry. If this industry flourishes, so will all of us.
Therefore, I place this onus on your shoulders this year. Please take a little time off to acknowledge the people who have helped contribute to the growth of this sector. Nominations for the awards are open to all industry professionals at www.itp.net/digitalstudioawards.
We have simplified the nomination process this time. All you have to do is log on to the address above, choose an award category and submit details for your nomination online. The Digital Studio Awards are all about celebrating quality and ingenuity - if you've been involved with any projects or know of any individuals that deserve recognition, we want you to let us know.
Nominations are open until January 20, 2008.
