Broadpeak today announced the introduction of the new BkS200 family of live and on-demand servers that deliver video via managed or open Internet networks to a variety of popular devices, such as Android mobile phones, tablet PCs, and the Apple iPhone and iPad. The new product family will be showcased at the 2011 IP&TV World Forum in London, where Broadpeak is exhibiting in stand 205.

Ideal for meeting the exponentially growing demand for multiplatform content delivery, the new, efficient platform from Broadpeak provides a unified solution for video streaming in a variety of popular formats such as Microsoft Silverlight Smooth Streaming, Adobe® Flash, and Apple HTTP live streaming for both live and on-demand applications.

"Content networks today must be prepared to handle all file formats, and the adaptive streaming methods used in the BkS200 are perfectly suited to provide this critical flexibility," said Jacques Le Mancq, Broadpeak's president and CEO. "The system automatically detects the file format of the delivered content and dynamically adapts the bit rate to the capacity of the network. Network operators can significantly improve the end-user's viewing experience by using the BkS200 because its adaptive-streaming capabilities virtually eliminate picture freezes and black screens due to long buffering times."
