Harris Middle East hosts annual dealer event in Cairo

Harris recently held its second annual Middle East Dealer event in Cairo, Egypt. This event followed hot on the heals of the company's participation at the ERTU exhibition last month in Cairo.

Harris recently held its second annual Middle East Dealer event in Cairo, Egypt. This event followed hot on the heals of the company's participation at the ERTU exhibition last month in Cairo. The event aimed to provide its regional distributors and resellers with updates and hands-on training on the products that span the comprehensive Harris SD/HD broadcast product portfolio.

"We wanted to replicate the success we achieved at our first ever Middle East distributor event in December 2006 in Dubai and to ensure that our partners were fully briefed and committed to our ONE integrated workflow solution strategy," commented Said Bacho, managing director, Harris Broadcast Middle East.

"With a number of dealers already in Cairo for the film festival, it seemed like a natural venue choice for us. Over the last year or so, the Middle East has seen a ground swell of broadcasters jump from analogue directly to HD transmission - bypassing a transitional step to standard-definition digital. Harris has been instrumental in facilitating many of these moves at recent key customer sites such as Saudi Television, Kuwait Television, Showtime Arabia , Taj Television, Ajman TV, Sharjah TV, and Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC), to name a few."

 

Bacho claims the interoperability initiatives from Harris are producing impressive broadcast workflow solutions such as its CENTRIO multiviewer and the new NEXIO AMP advanced media platform. "It is important for our dealers in the region to better understand how these products will enable customers to realise new revenues, repurpose content, target their advertising and deliver their brand," he explained.
