Avid has introduced a new line of editing software to the Middle East. The post-production giant announced three new additions to its Pinnacle Studio line, ranging from the beginners’ Pinnacle Studio HD to the ‘prosumer’ Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Collection, at a press conference in Dubai’s Media City last month. Editing and management suite Avid Studio has also been introduced to the Middle Eastern market, alongside channel distributor MediaCast.

“We’re really excited about these products: they’re very powerful pieces of software,” said Øystein Riise Næss, application specialist, emerging and pre-sales, Avid. The Pinnacle Studio HD suite will cost US$68; Pinnacle Studio Ultimate $114; Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Collection $149 and Avid Studio $195. The products aim to bridge the gap between the region’s amateur and burgeoning professional creative industries.
