Samsung chose CES 2012 as the platform to unveil the latest additions to its Smart TV lineup. The Korean electronics titan took the wraps off the ES9000 OLED TV and the UNES8000 LED TV.
“Samsung strives to provide consumers with the most innovative products in home entertainment and this has allowed us to develop an unbeatable portfolio and expand the content options on our Smart TVs. The Samsung ES9000 and UNES8000 represent the TVs of tomorrow by incorporating true-to-life picture quality, Smart Interaction, Samsung Apps, 3D functionality and multitasking into an amazingly thin form factor,” explained Vinod Nair, General Manager- TV Business, Samsung Gulf Electronics.
Samsung says its ES900 is the world’s latest super OLED TV to be manufactured from a single pane of glass. The TV is said to offer the ‘ultimate’ in picture quality by ‘featuring unmatched vivid and true-to-life picture quality in both 2D and 3D’. The TV is equipped with Samsung’s new 1GHz dual-core chipset, which allows users to run multiple apps simultaneously for an uninterrupted experience. The processor is also said to enable apps to open more quickly and delivers a smoother web browsing experience.
The UNES8000 joins Samsung’s already substantial LED TV range and boasts Smart TV features, 3D support, Smart Interaction and is also equipped with a dual-core processor. Samsung says the TV is poised to ‘redefine the way consumers manage their home entertainment experience, access the industry’s broadest range of content and interact with their smart TVs and other devices’.
