MBC signs new HD delivery deal

Leading broadcaster teams up with My-HD Media on Nilesat and Yahsat.

MBC has signed a deal with My-HD Media, a Dubai based Satellite-TV platform offering HD channels to audiences in the Middle East and North Africa. My-HD Media will distribute all 7 MBC HD channels; the agreement is the first step of upcoming expansions.

Viewers who purchase My-HD approved receivers or viewing cards will be able to enjoy MBC 1, MBC 2, MBC 4, MBC Action, MBC Drama, MBC MAX, and Al Arabiya News Channel, for free, in High Definition available on both Nilesat and Yahsat.

My-HD is the first Satellite-TV platform to offer all MBC HD channels on a large number of leading HD Digital receiver brands such as; Humax in the GCC, NHE in Kuwait, Dansat in Saudi Arabia, Lotus in Algeria and Tevicom in Morocco.

“We are happy to announce, that nearly one million MBC TV households who already own Humax HD receivers, (models IR1100HD, IR1020HD, IR2000HD, IR2020HD, iCORD HD+) can finally enjoy MBC’s HD channels by purchasing a My-HD viewing card, available at Humax dealers and shortly in key Hypermarkets across the GCC i.e. Carrefour, Panda, Expert, Lulu and DG Sharaf.” said Cliff Nelson, CEO of My-HD.
