Infinity TV has launched two new channels from its home on the TwoFour54 campus in Abu Dhabi, with the help of a complete workflow and infrastructure solution from Harris Broadcast. The family entertainment channels went on air from the new facility on December 15, 2012.

The new installation at Infinity TV includes a master control suite and an automated playout facility, all based on Harris Broadcast equipment. The system, designed and implemented in association with local systems integrator Media Consult, includes Harris Broadcast automation, servers, branding, routing and monitoring equipment.

“Our two family entertainment channels successfully launched in December thanks to the support and dedication from the Harris Broadcast team to implement a complete integrated solution at our Abu Dhabi facility,” said Mohammad Faisal, chief corporate officer at Infinity TV. “The local Harris Broadcast support team in Dubai worked closely with our engineers to deliver a complete solution that manages the entire production chain from ingest through to playout and everything in between.”

Harris Broadcast ADC automated content management and distribution manages playout of the new Infinity TV channels, controlling NEXIO servers. ADC also manages traffic between Harris Broadcast near-line storage to maximize efficiency, minimize bandwidth constraints and ensure that scheduled content is securely delivered to the playout suite in advance. Harris Broadcast IconLogo and IconMaster solutions support various master control tasks, from on-air channel branding to the design of graphics and promotional sequences.

“This is a great example of a unified solution from Harris Broadcast,” said Said Bacho, vice president of sales and services, Middle East and South Asia at Harris Broadcast. “We had worked with Infinity TV before, and when they decided to launch some new channels they turned to us because they knew we would deliver a simple, fully integrated and highly reliable system. Infinity trusted us to deliver a fully rounded workflow that met their business and technical needs, and we hit all budget and delivery targets.”

In the master control room signal processing and management is handled by Harris Broadcast 6800+ modular devices and a Panacea router. Operators monitor all activity throughout the complete station workflow using Harris Broadcast HView Predator GX-II multiviewers.
