Nancy Bishop and James Duff are not strange names in the film industry. Bishop is an Emmy-nominated casting director and Duff is an award winning director in short films.
They will bring their years of experience in the international film community to Dubai to teach actors how to get cast in films and learn what directors are really looking for.
In “Audition Technique”, Bishop, a CSA and author of “Secrets from the Casting Coach” will reveal to amateur and professional actors why is it that so many good actors do not perform well at casting.
Her two-day intensive “Bishop Technique” aims to improve the participants’ audition skills and how to make connections in the international acting community. Film and media students can also benefit from the 16-hour course that combines theory and practice plus one-to-one coaching.
The trainees at Duff’s “Directing the Actor”, an MFA from University of Southern California, will learn how to efficiently and effectively communicate their vision to their actors to create great performance.
The course will cover all aspects of directing an actor for film from preparation through the rehearsal process and getting ready to shoot from a master whose award winning “Life is a Sweet” screened at over 40 festivals worldwide from 2001 to 2002.
This event is sponsored by Prague Film School, Czech Republic, where both trainers are teaching, and Advanced Media, a regional distributor of Sony professional film and photography equipment that will supply the equipment required for training sessions to be held at AM Studio, a professional production house in Dubai.
Trainees will be awarded certificate by Prague Film School. “Casting Technique” starts on Friday 10 May 2013 and “Directing the Actor” on Tuesday 14 may 2013 at AM Studio in Al Quoz area of Dubai.
