Harris Broadcast has supplied a range of integrated broadcast solutions Gencom Technology Ltd, for the implementation of a multi-channel playout facility at Fiji TV. The solution at the leading television broadcaster in Fiji and the Pacific region encompasses the playout operation for 25 channels and also serves SKY Pacific, the Pacific's premium direct-to-home (DTH) satellite pay TV service.

Tarun Patel, CEO, Fiji TV said: “We already rely on the Harris Broadcast NEXIO AMP server platform and our experience so far has been extremely positive. For this reason, we were confident that we could rely on Harris Broadcast technology and, with help from Gencom, the two companies were able to design a solution specific to our needs.”

“We recognize that every broadcaster in the world is different, and we aim to develop flexible solutions which will meet each customer’s real operational and commercial needs,” said Richard Hewitt, regional sales manager, Australia and New Zealand, Harris Broadcast. “Working with Gencom, we were able to build a solution for Fiji TV that meets each of their specific needs and is cost-effective, robust and highly reliable. We were also able to deliver the technology quickly and on budget – a key business driver for Fiji TV.”

The facility also incorporates a range of Harris Broadcast master control graphics and production solutions to enhance the on-air look across all channels.
