UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) proved it packs a heavy punch in these parts on Friday night, as thousands of fight fans packed out the du Arena in Yas Island, witnessing Roy ‘Big Country’ Nelson devastated in the Octagon™ with a first round knock-out over Minotauro Nogueira.

After a four year hiatus, the du Arena welcomed 7963 fans into its purpose built Octagon, with the event broadcast to 325 million households worldwide, including 170 million in the EMEA. The televised coverage stretched to a whopping 178 countries, streamed live on channels such as Abu Dhabi sports and UFC FIGHT PASS.

“It was great to have UFC back in Abu Dhabi and at the arena," stated Lee Charteris of FLASH. " Though it was a challenging build and a heavy production demand, I think that UFC and the 8000 attendees all left very happy"

The show represented the first live event of its sort in the region following the announcement of a partnership between UFC and FLASH Entertainment earlier this year.
