As part of a major upgrade at Qatar Television, Salam Media Cast has undertaken the supply, installation and commissioning of a video wall and multi-viewing system at the channel's facility.

Barco's OV-D2 series will be installed on the QTV studio-1 floor as a background viewing system. This video wall technology system comprises 18 50" screens designed and optimised for use in a 24/7 mission critical environment.

"We went with the Barco projection engine because it provides an unrivaled DLP rear projection-system with outstanding picture quality, reliability and ease of use," commented Sami El Shafai, executive director, Salam Media Cast. "Furthermore, the system is capable of viewing both analogue and digital signals."

Miranda's Kaleido multiviewing monitoring system will also be installed for the first time at Qatar TV's central apparatus room. The new multi-image display system allows any of the station's signals to be displayed and monitored across the system.
