Argosy, a UK-based supplier of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, will introduce its new range of equipment racks at IBC2014. The racks are designed to simplify installations and maintenance while minimising rollout costs.

The new racks are already being used by broadcasters and services providers. For example, Gearhouse Broadcast is using them broadcast facilities around the world covering live sporting events, including those at this summer’s international football championships in Brazil.

“We are always on the lookout for new equipment that is both reliable and that will help save on installation time — and the new Argosy racks meet these criteria perfectly,” said Kevin Moorhouse, chief operating officer and MD of Gearhouse Broadcast UK. “We have had a longstanding relationship with Argosy.”

The rack’s open design maximises access to cables making it easy to install. It also provides the flexibility to allow customers to incorporate additional sets of cable trays where intensive cabling is required, and to change the positioning of mounting profiles to allow quick and easy relocation to suit the customers’ individual requirements.

Visitors to IBC2014 will also see Argosy demonstrate its HD and fibre optic products including, fibre assemblies, a broad range HD video and audio cables, connectors, high density HD video patch panels, video and audio jackfields, cable markers, cable boots, tools, MDUs, routers, KVM switches, racks, cable drums and network and data products as well as a variety of video accessories.
