Riedel Communications, a German company that provides broadcast network solutions for video, audio and communications, sees huge potential for growth in the Middle East after opening its regional office in Dubai Media City earlier in the year.
Ahmed Magd, general manager for the Middle East, Riedel, told Digital Studio that the office is now fully operational. While the office is currently home to just two staff, this is expected to rise to four full time staff by the end of 2015.
He added that Riedel sees strong growth potential in the region and that part of the rationale for opening the office was for the company to be closer to its customers.
“We see high demand for our products and services in the region. Customers differentiate between vendors based on many things: One of the very important factors is how close the vendor is to the customer and how fast they can serve him. We took the decision that we need to be regional.”
At present, Rieldel’s main focus in the Middle East is on broadcast business. However, Magd said that he sees potential top expand into the rental business for live events products.
“We have three pillars for our business: One is the broadcast, the second is live and rental, and the third is ‘everything else’ such as installations in education and convention centres,” Magd said.
“Customers like what we are offering. We are presenting ourselves as a complete solution for broadcast and intercoms, fibre optic signal transportation. There are many components to the solution.
He added that Riedel also works with other manufacturers. For example, he pointed out that the firm’s MediorNet products are compatible with Studer, Sony and Grass Valley. “We come as a vendor who has a relationship with other vendor,” Magd says.
