Experts in the field of media are set to discuss opportunities and challenges in Saudi Arabia’s media industry at the 2014 edition of the Saudi Media Forum.
Delegates including Dr. Javad Moghatti, general secretary of Asia Broadcasting Union (ABU), H.E. Dr. Riad Najm, president of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media, professor Salahuddin Maaoui, director general of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), Fahad Al-Sukait, CEO of Rotana, and Sam Barnett, CEO of MBC will speak at the forum.
Dr. Najm said that the forum aims to create a platform for decision-makers in the Saudi media sector, and for the exchange of ideas and strategies to face future challenges. The forum will discuss the current developments in various media, with presenting the latest technologies in the field.
He added that the forum will focus on digital media as an area of growing in influence in media. The forum will also address the role of Saudi women in the media with the aim of encouraging their participation and contribution.
Dr. Najm also spoke about the Saudi Media Awards, which will take place on November 26. The event will recognise prominent personalities and companies that have contributed to Saudi Arabia’s media sector in the past 12 months.
