Akamai Technologies and UAE telco du have announced that Selevision, a Saudi Arabian on demand TV provider, has selected the companies’ content delivery services for over-the-top delivery of its channels in the MENA region.
As part of the agreement, du’s broadcasting services division will provide first class Content Delivery Network (CDN) services from Akamai to Selevision, ensuring consistent quality of experience for their subscribers in the region. The telco will also offer IP transit services to Selevision, hosted at datamena.

Selevision established its own platform capable of delivering up to 400 channels, both HD and SD earlier in September. The platform was established through datamena’s head-end system in Dubai, and in partnership with du.
