Byrne Equipment Rental recently helped to deliver a first class tournament set-up for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club.

Organised by golf in DUBAi and held from January 26th to February 1st, the tournament saw Byrne provide over 5,000 square metres of temporary buildings, including bespoke sponsorship hospitality lounges, the European Tour offices, restaurants, catering areas, and retail space.

The full catalogue of equipment and services Byrne delivered covered the entire Omega Dubai Desert Classic site. It included power generators along with several kilometres of cabling, marshals’ cabins, temporary offices, lighting towers, toilet facilities, golf ball cleaning units, a mosque, ticket booths and more.

Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice chairman & CEO of golf in DUBAi said: “The temporary hospitality areas supplied have a feel of anything but temporary, they look and perform like permanent structures and are fitted out to the highest standards. The number of sponsors and players who comment positively on the quality of what we provide, or who don’t even realise it is temporary is testament to this."

He continued: "In addition we receive a huge amount of logistical support from Byrne through their on Site Project Coordinator Graham Glynn and his team, such as the provision of the floating pontoon, where a Mercedes GL500 is placed during our tournaments, the setting up of our sponsor branding, managing a host of other subcontractors and responding to our many other operational requirements on a daily basis.”

Byrne chief operating officer, Pat Fallon, commented; “The success of the presentation of this event is built on the longstanding relationship we have with golf in DUBAi. After the completion of our initial formal five year supply agreement last year, we were delighted to renew that contract and continue to build on our past success together. This allows us to have a dedicated team and fleet of equipment to support both the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and of course the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, also held each year at the iconic Emirates Golf Club."
