The Qatar National Theatre (QNT) has taken delivery of the first Midas PRO6 live mixing desk sold in the Middle East.

The PRO6 is the second networked digital audio system developed by Midas. Employing technologies first seen in the company’s popular XL8 desk, the PRO6 offers synchronised audio performance in a compact package.

The QNT installation was performed by Abu Dhabi-based systems integrator Tek Signals. Dubai-based Midas distributor NMK Electronics supplied the kit, which included a digital snake.

“There are various benefits to the PRO6 for either live or installed applications,” claimed Marc Paraiso, sales and support engineer for NMK.

“With the use of fibre optics we are able to route audio in a reliable and flexible manner. The system also boasts redundancy on numerous levels such as power, DSP processing, and control. The fact that it is also using a Linux platform gives the product a strong position in the digital console market."
