UBMS, a Dubai-based distributor of broadcast technology, will host two courses at its dedicated training academy this month.
The first, a Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve workshop, will be held on Thursday 4 June. The session, which is fully booked, will see 25 attendees learn about the software, which combines professional non-linear video editing with an advanced colour corrector.
The second session, which is set to take place on June 14, will be conducted entirely in Arabic and will focus on Sony camera technology. The session, which is called Sony Technology and Beyond, will look at a range of topics such as 4K, 2K, sensor sizes, recording formats and bit rates. It will aim to cover the spectrum of Sony’s professional camera technology.
Peter Kyriakos, head of marketing at UBMS, explained that the course is in Arabic to cater to a gap in the market for such training sessions. “There have been requests for this, as not everyone is comfortable doing these types of workshops in English.”
The workshop, which is free, can accommodate up to 25 people.
