Novo Cinemas has announced plans for a 19-screen multiplex to be located in the heart of Dubai as part of an ambitious extension of the city's Wafi Mall.
The announcement comes as Novo Cinemas sets out to grow its reach to over 200 screens by 2016, and to continue in its mission to transform the movie-going experience. Novo Cinemas at Wafi Mall will introduce cinema concepts never before seen in the Middle East, including unique, family-tailored entertainment offerings and a new standard in the first-class experience.
In addition, Novo Cinemas Wafi Mall will showcase a cutting-edge IMAX theatre equipped with IMAX laser project technology, which will provide audiences with the sharpest, brightest and clearest images ever, coupled with a new level of precision audio and IMAX's theatre geometry to offer movie-goers the most immersive cinema viewing experience to date.
Debbie Stanford-Kristiansen, CEO Novo Cinemas, said: “The planning phase of our Wafi Mall project took us around the world, exploring the most advanced concepts to appear on the cinema entertainment landscape, and into the heart of the modern cinema-goer. We are very excited to join hands with the forward-thinking developers of Wafi Mall to bring patrons a cinema experience they will not find anywhere else in the Middle East."
Novo Cinemas launch plans are also in progress across several previously announced locations, including Dubai's Dragon Mart and IMG Worlds of Adventure, the world's largest indoor themed entertainment destination. Openings have also been planned at Doha's 01 Mall and North Gate Mall, and Bahrain's Seef Muharraq Mall, among others.
