Media Links EMEA, which develops broadcast network infrastructure technologies to transport content over IP contribution and primary distribution networks, has announced the appointment of John Smith as head of EMEA. Smith’s responsibility will be to manage the expansion of the organisation throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.

As well as consultancy, Smith has held senior roles over more than 25 years working with technology companies including, Sony, Logica, Saudi Telecoms, OKI Systems, Feltech and IVC Media.

He commented: “With our new Media Links EMEA UK base, we are now well positioned to continue to set new standards in developing advanced video technology and cement our leadership in Ethernet and SONET based solutions for contribution video for our clients across the region."

Smith added: “Part of our expansion plans involve the roll-out of a partner programme which we are launching at IBC 2015. We are aiming to work with like-minded industry leading organisations to develop solutions for broadcasters and network providers to enable them to convert and move the complete suite of broadcast signals - whether video, audio or data - onto their multi-service IP/Ethernet networks."

Media Links will be at IBC in Hall 1, booth C31.
