The International Live Events Association (formerly known as the Middle East chapter of the International Special Events Society) is offering members the chance to develop their knowledge, skills and networks further with a series of specially created events, designed to inspire industry professionals through the Middle East.
And, following the launch of ILEA’s first set of recommended Health & Safety guidelines earlier this year, members and non-members alike were offered the chance to participate in the Association’s first Health & Safety workshop at Dubai World Trade Centre last week.
The morning workshop, designed to improve Health & Safety standards of the events industry in the region and minimise liability, took participants through objective reviews of their own documentation and processes, as well as instruction on how to write a fully comprehensive risk assessment.
As a result of the demand for places on this inaugural course and in response to the positive feedback from participants, ILEA has committed to offering the same workshop three times per year.
In addition, the group is hosting its second 'Inspiration Sessions' on 17th September 2015 at The Fridge in Al Quoz. This event will take the format of a debate between industry professionals, thought leaders from outside the industry, and special guests. The sessions will start at 1pm with a networking lunch, and conclude at 6pm following an hour of networking and refreshments.
Topics to be debated include:
- Individuals rely on too much on technology and are neglecting genuine connection in favour of a digital one.
- Global events such as Expo and the Olympics cannot function without the support of international suppliers.
- The client is king! It is never OK to say no to a client.
Admission for the afternoon is Dhs200 for members of ILEA and Dhs300 for non-members. To reserve a place, contact email@example.com.
