The first products from its new line of acoustic furniture, Vicoustic is currently presenting its JStand acoustic desks at InfoComm MEA.

Acoustic furniture represents an entirely new concept in premium studio desk design, aiming to provide the most efficient workplace for musicians and producers possible by complementing the acoustic performance of the recording studio. Designed by Jan Morel - a leading expert in complete studio designs - the JStand Acoustic Desk Series consists of three elements: The Wave Desk, the Wing Desk and the Wing Rack.

With a workspace area of 1.50sqm, the Wave Desk offers sturdy construction and build, as well as enhancing the acoustic environment with built in bass trap functionality. The Wing Desk’s bold and futuristic design provides an innovative and versatile work desk, while the Wing Rack is the optional add-on solution for combining easy access to outboard gear with great design and acoustic functionality.

Vicoustic CEO, César Carapinha, says: “JStand is a new brand of acoustic furniture. This is a new concept because normally acoustic treatment is applied to other materials than furniture. Since the desks are in the sweet spot – the most important place in a recording studio – we think it’s very import to have it acoustically treated."

He continues: "We are showing the first three models – more will come in the future – and this is the first time we’ve made a public appearance. The first reaction is always ‘wow they are gorgeous!’ Then the second reaction comes when people find out what we actually have inside. When they know there is acoustic treatment inside then they see it from a technical perspective.”
