Sony Professional marked the local launch of the much awaited PXW-FS5 by engaging with videography enthusiasts across different genres during a dedicated workshop on November 28-29.
Regional production houses and budding local talent attended the event to gain an in-depth hands-on filming and cinematography experience. The PXW-FS5 was put through its paces by celebrated cinematographer Alister Chapman, where the sessions focused on video production, shooting techniques, camera functionalities and workflow.
The event, attended by professional and aspiring videographers and cinematographers alike, gave individuals a chance to learn from a well-regarded freelance cinematographer who has over 30 years of experience in the field and has used Sony cameras since 1980s. Chapman demonstrated the use of the PXW-FS5 and shared useful insights for the local production environment.
“We are delighted at the positive turnout received at our interactive workshop about PXW-FS5,” said Vivian Saldanha, business head-content creation sales and market development, Sony Professional Solutions MEA. “The workshop had been organised to enable our customers to experience the PXW-FS5 first-hand and explore its capabilities with one of the best cinematographers in the business.”
During the sessions, Chapman showed the versatility of the ‘grab and shoot’ style PXW-FS5. The PXW-FS5 enables the user to shoot high and low angles with equal agility and provides unsurpassed on-the-go shooting in the most demanding of conditions with stunning image choices. It features the first built-in electronic Variable ND Filter for a Super35mm camcorder which provides complete control over lighting in fast moving situations and is equipped with an 11.6 million pixel Super35 Exmor CMOS Sensor that enables 4K XAVC long GoP high-definition video shooting. In addition the clear image zoom significantly extends your ability to get closer to a remote scene while preserving image quality.
