Friend MTS, specialist in content and platform protection, has strengthened its international service offering with the appointment of Chris White to the position of senior solutions architect.
White is an experienced solutions architect more than 15 years’ experience in creating premium internet video platforms for a variety of international markets, with a particular focus on the Middle East.
He joins Friend MTS from Piksel where he was responsible for designing, building and supporting the OTT infrastructure for some of the world’s most successful pay-TV providers including OSN, Sky, Channel 4 and AT&T. White has also consulted on digital architecture and development for BBC as well as a number of other professional services companies.
White said: “Having worked in the media industry for over 10 years I'm well aware of the issues that content piracy can cause content owners and broadcasters. Friend MTS has best-in-class solutions and technology that solve this growing problem, and with the global increase in video consumption and the emergence of new standards such as 4K now is an exciting time to be involved in anti-piracy solutions.”
White joins Friend MTS just six months after Rob Brown, who has since been promoted to the position of Technical Operations Director. White will report directly to him and work closely with Friend MTS’s commercial and engineering teams across the globe to develop security solutions that best meet the needs of its rapidly growing portfolio of Pay TV and OTT operator clients.
Brown said: “It’s great to have someone with Chris’s extensive international experience on board. We’re expanding our international offering quite rapidly so his experience, especially in the Middle East will be really valuable going forward. Chris has built OTT platforms for some really big players so he’s already familiar with the challenges operators face when it comes to content security. This puts him in a good stead for helping our customers around the world to find the best way to protect their content and revenues.”
